Mr. Leighton Smith’s relationship with VM Group began in 1995 serving in varying capacities before leaving the organisation in 2005. In 2010, he rejoined the family serving as the Manager for the Duke Street Branch. His drive for success combined with excellent performance saw him moving through the ranks being promoted to the Assistant Vice President, Sales & Service (Eastern Region) in 2013 and advancing to his current post of Chief Representative Officer in December 2013. In this role, he has direct responsibility and oversight for the VM Operations in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada .
His 20 years of experience in the field of Marketing and Sales, Business Development, Operations Management and Retail Banking, can also be credited to serving at different organisations in the financial industry. Before rejoining the VM Group in 2013, Mr. Smith served as Retail Banking & Marketing Manager as well as Manager Sales & Product Development at First Global Bank. He also worked as Senior Manager, Marketing Promotions, at the Capital & Credit Financial Group.
Mr. Smith completed his Masters in Business Administration at the University of New Orleans and his Bachelors in Business Administration and Management at the University of Technology. He is a certified Job Evaluator and Trainer in Culture Change. Mr. Smith also holds certificates in Project Management, Jamaican Securities as well as a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) in the United Kingdom.
